Starting Off With a Little Portobello...

Let's start off the ribbon cutting ceremony of my blog: Bite the Generation with a simple quick recipe involving my ultimate obsession...portobello mushrooms.  I'm always a ravenous carnivore but mushrooms sliced, sautéed, or pureed can give a lively makeover to any dish.
My mom first cut up two stalks of portobello mushrooms, red onions, garlic, and added a little sausage to infuse some flavor.

Now throw the onions, garlic, and sausage in a stir fry pan...add some extra virgin olive oil before, obviously.  The only condiment needed is a little salt here and there.  Mushrooms give out a crazy amount of water especially when you create more steam by covering the pan with a lid.  Let it sizzle in the covered pan a bit, allowing the flavors to imbue.

Voila, a great appetizer and the red onions add a little color...
Note: You can probably tell I'm a bit vague when it comes to the description of the amount of such ingredients but I have to tell you I'm from a Chinese family where the terms of measurement is known through experience.  In future recipes, I'll try to prevent from using such terms as dash, smidgen, and "a little here and there."  :-)
Note2: If you are from Houston, you can buy the portobello mushrooms from 99 Ranch Market at a very reasonable price, and the sausage was bought precooked and also can be found at 99 Ranch Market.
